Installation Instructions
- Lay strips of edging down in proximity of bed area to be defined by
edging.
- Connect strips of edging by slipping the ends straight into each other.
Making sure that the edging overlaps by at least two inches.
- As edging strips are connected, begin defining the bed area with the
design by standing edging up vertically on top of grade. Keep stake tabs
towards the inside of the bed area. (Note: twist and/or flex edging while
moving to keep edging from sliding apart.)
- Adjust bed outline to suit keeping in mind the trench will be dug 2 to 3
inches offset from the edging.
- Using a spade (or an edger/trencher) dig a trench 2 to 3 inches offset
from the edging.
- Position edging in trench such that top of edging will be approximately
1/2" to 3/4" above final grade.
- At the end of the bed area, slide edging further together if there is only
a little extra. If cutting is necessary, cut through entire piece of
edging with a sharp hacksaw while supporting edging firmly on a flat surface.
- Drive stakes down through stake pockets as shown above to permanently
secure edging in place. Fill in with finish grade and/or bed media along
edging. Compact grades near edging such that finish grade is 1/2" to
3/4" inches below top of edging.
